Chinese Investors to attend Motor Expo 2009 Opening Ceremony
Confident in Strong Thai Auto Market

“THE 26th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2009” to be held this year-end has attracted much interest from the Chinese operators and investors who will attend the Opening Ceremony on December 2, confident in the Thai auto market. Meanwhile, the organizers promise terrific highlights that will top all past events.

Mr. Prapong Maicharoen, Deputy Organizing Chairman of “THE 26th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2009” reveals that he had a meeting with TCL International Co., Ltd., an importer-exporter and foreign tour operator, about a plan to welcome over 100 investors and operators in the automotive industry from 6 Chinese Provinces who have booked a package tour to Thailand and wish to attend the Motor Expo 2009 Opening Ceremony on December 2, 2009 at IMPACT Challenger, Muang Thong Thani as well as tour the show to look into the trend of the Thai auto market. The Chinese investors would also be meeting with the Board of Investment to discuss cooperation and promotional privileges that would be granted for investing in Thailand.
“It is good news that investors from China show an interest to visit the Motor Expo as this will make the event more widely known internationally, especially in China with its large population. The outcome could be an investment stimulus not only in the auto industry but also in ancillary industry and tourism,” said Mr. Prapong.
“From our talk with TCL we learn that the Chinese investors appreciate Thailand’s investment promotional scheme; infrastructures that are conducive to businesses—whether in transport, communications or public utilities; the recovering Thai economy; the continuous rising trend of the Thai auto market, and all these give them an incentive to invest here,” he added.

“The fact that the Chinese investors and operators have decided to invest in Thailand should generate money circulation of about 2,500 – 3,000 million Baht in the Motor Expo 2009 during the fourth quarter which will be good for the Thai economy.”
“THE 26th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2009” will be held at IMPACT Challenger 1-3, Muang Thong Thani during December 2-13, 2009. Further details can be found at
