Gasohol 91

Has anyone ever used Gasohol 91? I have checked it out recently in my 2007 CRV. I don't know whether it is just me, but the car is darn slow with Gasohol 91. I currently use Gasohol 95 which seems to be ok. Any comments?

Yes...
Hi Petgoon,
Yes, I used Gasohol 91 (G91) for a few months. Have a 1.6 Chevrolet Optra, and it is fine with 91 Octane fuel, but like you, I noticed a performance drop with Gasohol 91. I also calculated my fuel usage to be a little higher. I get 9.5 - 10 km/l with Gasohol 95 (G95), but it was around 9 km/l with G91.
I also noticed that I was getting some engine nocking when idling after a trip with the G91, which has never happened with G95.
With regular petrol, you really should have to worry about the octane being 91 or 95 unless your engine specifically needs the higher octane rating. For example, my 1.6 Optra is happy with 91 octane, so using 95 is basically a waste of money, since I will not notice any performance increase.
From my experience at least (and yours two by the sounds of it), the same doesn't seem to apply when it comes to Gasohol for some reason.
