Clean Air - For the Children!
![]() |
The Bangkok Post has a piece on emissions control in Thailand. It describes Thailand as a developing nation that is employing standards that are "on par" with the developed world when it comes to emissions. |
The concept that we are "borrowing" the air from the generations to come is a theme used in this article, and it should make us think.
Thailand is what you call a developing nation, but its citizens live a comfortable lifestyle. Their attitude is that Thailand isn't a "big deal" on the global stage which is why there is a tendency to have a nonchalant attitude when it comes to emission standards.
Is this an accurate description of the average Thai's attitude to emissions? I hope not. If it is, then it's time for a change! The responsibility doesn't sit completely with the government.
